VolunteerThank you for showing an interest in this exciting celebration we are embarking on. We have many specific events planed and are always opent to new ideas too. We would like to assign exact tasks to those interested in helping in any of the following ways: 1- Thornhill Village Festival (Saturday, Sept 16th, 2006) - manning our table for an hour, or just to say hello, help register any alumnus or community supporter 2-Communications Team - we will need help sending numerous emails and notifications regularly -we're hoping for participation as decade liaisons -contact with local papers, radio and TV -posters for publicity 3- Sign up to be a pen pal as part of literacy studies at TPS! -students will be writing letters to anyone willing to correspond with them (minimum of 2 letters in response to their letters) during the months of October to March 4- Tell us your stories... as another part of media studies, volunteers willing to share their TPS stories, will be contacted to either be 'interviewed' by students or invited to tell their stories to a class. A compiled DVD will be sold as a commemorative piece. We want YOU to tell us your stories! 5- Send in photos - we are going to create a photo mosaic of the school crest, and need hundreds of photos from all eras and of all sorts of events, to scan and program, to help make up our final image. Posters of the completed crest will be sold as a fundraiser. 6- Buy a quilt square - whether near or far, we invite people to "purchase a quilt square". you will be given materials and a theme with which you will be asked to make a square (at your leisure) . -later, there will be a community QUILTING BEE to assemble the quilt. We will need volunteers for all aspects of these projects, in any shape or size. whether you'd like to help scan photos, cut fabric swatches, make some phone calls, come tell stories, or send out email messages to more alumni... we can use whatever you want to help out with.
